Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel

The Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel, situated at 1,790 meters in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India, lies beneath the Banihal Pass in the Pir Panjal mountain range on National Highway 44. Constructed between 2011 and 2021, it is one of India’s longest tunnels at 8.45 km (5.25 mi). The tunnel reduces the distance between Srinagar and Jammu by 16 km and cuts travel time from 6 hours to 5.5 hours.
