Project Spotlight | Mumbai–Pune Missing Link
We are proud to support the Mumbai–Pune Missing Link Project — a ₹6,695 Cr infrastructure upgrade on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway.
Spanning 13.3 km, the project includes 10.55 km of twin tunnels, two major viaducts, and India’s tallest cable-stayed road bridge, along with the widening of 5.86 km of the existing expressway and a 10.2 km approach road through forest terrain. Designed with four lanes on each side, the corridor bypasses the steep Lonavala ghat section, reducing travel distance while improving safety and driving comfort.
With the project nearing completion, congratulations to the teams at AFCONS Infrastructure Limited – A Shapoorji Pallonji Group Company and Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd for driving this landmark project forward under the Maharashtra State Road Development Corp (MSRDC).
Concrete execution on the project demanded pumping segment concrete up to 110 m vertically and 135 m horizontally, while maintaining workability retention of nearly 180 minutes.
High-performance concrete up to M70 grade was required for pylons, deck segments, viaducts, and extensive tunnel lining in challenging ghat terrain with heavy rainfall exposure.
CAC supplied solutions from our high-performance admixture range, including curing compounds, shotcrete accelerators, microsilica, and concrete pumping solutions, enabling highly pumpable concrete with long retention and consistent strength development for high-rise structures and tunnel works.
At hashtag#CAC, we continue to support complex infrastructure with optimized admixture technology, enabling faster construction cycles, improved durability, and long-term structural performance.
Partner with CAC to power your next infrastructure project with high-performance concrete solutions.
